Application Support Analyst

Fixed term contract basis (1year)
Immediate requirement for an experienced professional who has worked in the role of Application Support Analyst.
The Systems team are responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of 20+ different applications supporting the core business divisions of Residential Delivery, Asset Recovery (deleveraging) and Asset Management.
This is a dynamic environment, working across a wide variety of technologies including Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle data warehouse and business intelligence technologies, Microsoft SharePoint, and web application portals, geographical information systems and financial applications. Over 140 releases were implemented across all applications in 2016.
The Application Support Analyst role resides in the 1st/2nd line support team within the Systems unit.
The Application Support analyst's principal responsibilities will include:
Responsible for understanding user application issues and requests raised, independent assessment of impact and risks, ownership of the issue, and the implementation of resolution
Work with colleagues and manage support from external partners, 3rd party suppliers and contractors for issues that require escalation managing the issue through to resolution
Liaise with business users providing progress status updates until the request is completed and/or issue resolved.
Keep up to date with new features and functionality enhancements in the application suite being supported.
Manage complex access and governance models across a wide range of applications and technologies.
Analyse potential solutions in terms of technology requirements and capabilities to meet usability requirements where applicable in order to resolve recurrent issues.
Participation in BaU cross functional activities that impact the underlying data/functionality in the applications, application upgrades and projects assigned.
Support the implementation of systems and documentation of operating procedures and guidance.
Please do not apply if you do not meet ALL of the following requirements for this role:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in computing or engineering or equivalent;
  • Applicants must have at least 2 years' experience as an application support analyst or similar role. Preferably involving customer facing experience in a financial services environment, managing and supporting complex enterprise application solutions;
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, effectively manage time and prioritize competing priorities in a changing environment;
  • Experienced user of defect tracking systems (e.g. Bugzilla, Jira etc) including the extraction of key data for use in support weekly tracking and KPIs;
  • Experienced in working in a cross functional dynamic environment.
