Communications Graduate - 10 month fixed term contract – Dublin based with possibility of some domestic travel
As a science-led, global healthcare company, our reputation is incredibly important to us. Our communications team are an integral part of GSK in helping communicate our values, and our product and business developments in a clear and compelling manner.
Communications provides a mouthpiece – both internally and externally – for all of GSK’s businesses in Ireland: Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Healthcare, and our three Global Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) sites in Cork, Dungarvan and Sligo. We use a variety of communication tools and channels to deliver a consistent story to all of our audiences and are now looking for two new members to join our communications team:
Graduate required for an exciting temporary opportunity in Communications. Candidates should have strong communication skills both written & verbal, demonstrated ability to solve problems and have exceptional ability to operate in a highly collaborative team environment.
The role will involve working closely with the Communications Director and the wider communications team to manage GSK Ireland’s corporate digital channels. Activities will include creating and publishing content on various media and communications platforms aligned to GSK Ireland’s communications strategy.
Qualifications & experience
You should be a graduate student, graduated within the last 18 months or about to graduate 2016, with a minimum 2.1 Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, digital media, and/or Business. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills, be a self starter who is happy taking the initiative and making things happen. Strong writing skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are also needed.Given the strong digital element of this role, experience of social media and digital channels is an advantage.
What will this placement offer me?
This is an exciting role in which you will help to manage GSK’s reputation with stakeholders and customers. You will be responsible for creating and managing the newsflow of GSK Ireland’s corporate digital content for channels including ie.gsk.com, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Do I have the skills?
You have should have a broad business background and understanding of corporate and external communications. The ideal candidate will be looking to build a career in corporate communications and should be able to demonstrate an interest in this field. Ideally, you will have strong digital technology skills and be competent with software and tools used for creating and managing websites and social media. In addition, experience of using Content Management Systems and graphic design software would be an advantage. The ideal candidate will be actively using social media, and be demonstrate same.
