Our Information Technology team is closely integrated with the business, and delivers and supports business development for the company. We are expanding our Information Technology department and are looking to recruit a number of dynamic individuals in a range of technology disciplines. We are currently looking for an Oracle Developer/ Analyst for our grocery systems. The role will focus on developing reports and integration solutions in and around the Oracle Retail suite of applications. This role is typically described as a hybrid role where the person will be expected to work with the Business Analysts or super-users to complete the Business requirements and develop the appropriate technical or process-based solution.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support Oracle Pl/SQL procedures and Forms, Reports and Apex applications to defined specifications.
  • Bring development projects through the complete lifecycle from requirements gathering, specification write-up, through to supporting user-acceptance testing and rollout support
  • Support other Team members with their project and enhancement commitments.
Required Skills
  • At least 5 years development in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Reports & Forms, APEX, on 10g or 11g (min 2 years) with working knowledge of at least one ERP application (Oracle, SAP, etc) in areas of Stock Management, Order Management, Forecasting and/or Planning.
  • Must have worked in a large organisation using formal methodologies for the development lifecycle.
  • Must have good customer service skills, a working knowledge of business processes and be able to communicate effectively with the business at all levels.
  • Ability to convert Business Requirements into detailed functional & technical specifications
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player, and enjoy working in an environment that requires continuous learning.
  • Liaise with Oracle Applications counterparts across different teams
  • Working with Oracle technical support on technical issues (logging SR's)
  • Flexible to work out of regular working hours, if need be.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with strong presentation skills. Experience with Business Process Improvement initiatives
  • Proficient project management and collaboration tools like MS Projects and Visio.

Desired Skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle Retail Modules - ORMS, ORPM, OReIM, SIM, RPAS or other comparable Retail ERP application.
  • Also skills in Java/EJB/OC4J Applications would be an advantage.
